The Texas Hill Country's Favorite Burger :: Alamo Springs Cafe

Every Texan knows where to get a good burger rec. Texas Monthly. They know their beef. And they do everyone a service by seeking out the best of the best, so they can share their finds with the public, and we can all indulge.

One of the best of the best selections is located in the Texas Hill Country. Nestled so far in the countryside, only locals and true Texas burger lovers make the journey. And let me tell ya...it’s one of the juiciest, flavor filled, eyes roll to the back of yo head delicious.

This little piece of Texas burger heaven would be Alamo Springs Cafe.

The cell service is spotty at best, but that’s part of the charm. This small dive thrives off of good conversation over good food with some good tunes. If you want a drink, it’s on the honor system. If you want a basket of fries...it’ll feed three. If you want to take the El Jefe Challenge, you can try eating 6 beef patties, 6 slices of cheese and a large order of fries without puking. And then get your picture on the wall to live in burger coma infamy.

You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu (unless maybe if you order a salad, but even then...those are pretty delicious...or so I've heard). People come from far and wide to try out the Texas Monthly recommendation. And Alamo Springs is the kind of place where the smell of burger and french fries will linger on your clothing...just as a reminder to come back and enjoy again, soon.
